A performer since the age of four, Nyssa began violin under the instruction of her mother and went on to study with professors at the University of Iowa and Oberlin Conservatory of Music. She also obtained a BFA in musical theatre at the Webster Conservatory of Theatre Arts. Since moving to NYC in 2013, Nyssa has worked extensively with the politically active theatre group, Strike Anywhere, and the Envelope Ensemble, which performs Greek tragedies with original music. Her Regional credits include Sunday in the Park with George (St. Louis Repertory Theatre), Bare (New Line Theatre), Almost Heaven (Great Plains Theatre), and Cotton Patch Gospel (Arrowrock Lyceum Theatre). Most recently Nyssa toured with and was featured in the Johnny Cash musical, Ring of Fire. Her violin solo in the encore never failed to start a standing ovation. Nyssa also plays piano, mandolin, guitar, ukulele, and accordion - not all at the same time...yet.
